Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Friday's session.

Agro Phos(up 10.00%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 4.99%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 4.71%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 2.25%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 1.72%) and Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 1.57%) stood among the top gainers.

ZUARIAGRO(down 5.59%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 4.93%), Sikko Industries(down 3.76%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 3.38%), Madras Fertlizers(down 2.74%), G S F C(down 2.33%), National Fertilizer(down 2.16%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.96%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 1.72%) and Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 1.51%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 142.5 points down at 17102.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 460.19 points at 57060.87.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.93%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.49%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.42%), HDFC Bank(up 0.97%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.83%), Tata Steel(up 0.81%), Tata Motors(up 0.36%), HDFC(up 0.26%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.24%) and UltraTech Cement(up 0.2%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Axis Bank(down 6.57%), Coal India(down 3.89%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 3.46%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 3.33%), Bajaj Auto(down 2.73%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.64%), Wipro(down 2.63%), Britannia Industries(down 2.34%), State Bank of India(down 2.21%) and Titan Company Ltd(down 2.19%) closed in the red.
