Instagram will soon allow users to pin their favourite posts on top of the profile. How it works

The Meta-owned photo-sharing platform Instagram is currently exploring a new feature that will let users pin posts to their profile. According to a report, the social media platform has confirmed that it will soon launch a new feature that will allow users to pin their profile above their photo grid.

The report further said that the new feature is already in the testing phase and a few users on Instagram are able to use it.

The feature to pin posts on a user's profile could be an advantage to boost Instagram as this will help people highlight their special posts that may have disappeared in the photo grid over the time as more photos and videos were added to the profile.

"We are testing a new feature that lets people feature posts on their profile," a spokesperson was quoted as saying by TechCrunch in an email.

The new update could also be a game changer for content creators as this will allow them to grab special attention and get more reach on their selective posts. Though Instagram currently already gives users the option to 'Highlight' their Story on the profile.

According to reports, users who are able to see the new feature during the testing phase, are seeing 'Pin to your profile' option next to their posts after clicking on three dots.
