Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:49AM

Nakoda Group(up 3.12%), Varun Beverages(up 2.74%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.47%), DFM Foods(up 1.03%), Nestle India(up 0.77%), Zydus Wellness(up 0.72%), P & G Hygiene(up 0.70%), Emami(up 0.58%), Heritage Foods(up 0.42%) and Marico(up 0.36%) were among the top gainers.

Future Consumer(down 5.45%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 4.72%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 3.45%), Vadilal Industries(down 2.76%), Dangee Dums(down 1.45%), Bajaj Consumer(down 1.11%), Prataap Snacks(down 1.10%), Umang Dairies(down 0.96%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.95%) and Jyothy Labs(down 0.93%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 46.65 points up at 17085.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 172.88 points at 56992.27 at around 10:49AM.

Hindustan Unilever(up 2.47%), UPL Ltd(up 2.11%), Asian Paints(up 2.06%), Eicher Motors(up 1.34%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.19%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.19%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.16%), Reliance Industries(up 1.13%), SBI Life(up 1.01%) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.98%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 1.95%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.56%), Bajaj Finance(down 1.36%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.01%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.88%), Bajaj Finserv(down 0.83%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.69%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.61%), HDFC Bank(down 0.54%) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.52%) were trading in the red.
