With 2,541 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India's total tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,30,60,086, while the active cases increased to 16,522, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.
The death toll climbed to 5,22,223 with 30 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded as 98.75 per cent, the ministry said. An increase of 649 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

More than 192.74 crore COVID vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories till date, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
"More than 192.74 crore (1,92,74,20,735) vaccine doses have been provided to States, UTs so far through Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category," a statement from the Health Ministry said.

One active COVID-19 case in Andamans
One COVID-19 patient is currently undergoing treatment in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a health bulletin said on Monday.
The coronavirus tally of the Union territory remained unchanged at 10,035 as no fresh infection was registered, it said.
