Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:14AM

Lexus Granito(up 4.98%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 4.02%) and Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.73%) were among the top gainers.

NMDC Ltd(down 3.86%), Ashapura Minechem(down 3.32%), Coal India(down 2.35%), Pokarna(down 1.65%), KIOCL(down 1.56%), 20 Microns(down 1.24%), Oriental Trimex(down 1.16%), MOIL(down 1.10%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.42%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.25%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 131.5 points down at 17040.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 373.29 points at 56823.86 at around 10:14AM.

Bajaj Auto(up 1.79%), ICICI Bank(up 1.58%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.23%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.92%), Axis Bank(up 0.87%), Eicher Motors(up 0.42%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.42%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.15%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 3.91%), Tata Steel(down 3.2%), JSW Steel(down 2.75%), Britannia Industries(down 2.72%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.48%), Coal India(down 2.35%), Hindustan Unilever(down 2.2%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.1%), Hindalco Industries(down 2.04%) and SBI Life(down 1.96%) were trading in the red.
