Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:04AM

Adani Power(up 3.05%), NLC India(up 1.79%), Energy Development Company(up 0.48%), DPSC(up 0.35%) and Adani Transmissions(up 0.13%) were among the top gainers.

GE Power India Limited(down 3.40%), Alstom T&D India(down 3.04%), RTNPOWER(down 2.61%), NHPC(down 2.53%), Hitachi Energy India(down 2.40%), Reliance Power(down 2.34%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 2.25%), Tata Power Company(down 2.23%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 2.23%) and Karma Energy(down 2.18%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 202.65 points down at 16969.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 605.92 points at 56591.23 at around 10:04AM.

Bajaj Auto(up 1.69%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.02%), ICICI Bank(up 0.94%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.5%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.42%), Eicher Motors(up 0.24%) and Axis Bank(up 0.1%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 4.42%), Tata Steel(down 3.89%), JSW Steel(down 3.51%), Britannia Industries(down 2.94%), Coal India(down 2.84%), Hindalco Industries(down 2.72%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.61%), Hindustan Unilever(down 2.59%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.34%) and ITC(down 2.22%) were trading in the red.
