Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 2.36 crore), ARC Finance(number of shares traded: 2.00 crore), MPS Infotecnics (number of shares traded: 1.84 crore), Shalimar Prod(number of shares traded: 1.36 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 1.13 crore), Shree Global(number of shares traded: 0.97 crore), BCL Enterprises(number of shares traded: 0.97 crore), Lloyds Steels(number of shares traded: 0.83 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 0.67 crore) and Bajaj Hindusthan Su(number of shares traded: 0.61 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:50AM in Friday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 153.25 points down at 17239.35, while BSE Sensex was down 487.73 points at 57423.95 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 3.69 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.81 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.63 per cent), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.46 per cent) and Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 0.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 3.82 per cent), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 2.27 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.06 per cent), State Bank of India(down 2.00 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(down 1.94 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
