Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Friday at 11:05AM

Shree Renuka Sugars(up 11.82%), BAJAJHIND(up 7.13%), Rana Sugars(up 6.70%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 6.45%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 4.94%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 4.91%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 4.76%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 4.67%), Sakthi Sugars(up 4.31%) and K.M.Sugar Mills(up 4.14%) were among the top gainers.

Uttam Sugar Mills(down 0.12%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 128.6 points down at 17264.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 404.97 points at 57506.71 at around 11:05AM.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 3.73%), HCL Technologies(up 1.81%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.05%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.42%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.24%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.23%), Asian Paints(up 0.04%) and Tech Mahindra(up 0.04%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 4.0%), Cipla(down 2.16%), State Bank of India(down 2.07%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 2.01%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.97%), Axis Bank(down 1.87%), Grasim Industries(down 1.62%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.61%), UPL Ltd(down 1.56%) and Eicher Motors(down 1.41%) were trading in the red.
