Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:00AM

NLC India(up 5.26%), Adani Transmissions(up 3.83%), Inox Wind Energy(up 3.61%), Alstom T&D India(up 3.61%), Adani Power(up 3.10%), NHPC(up 2.97%), Inox wind(up 2.40%), Tata Power Company(up 1.91%), DPSC(up 1.74%) and Indowind Energy(up 1.43%) were among the top gainers.

Jyoti Structures(down 2.20%), ADANIGREEN(down 1.22%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.12%), Voltamp Transformers(down 0.95%), Hitachi Energy India(down 0.93%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 0.27%), JSW Energy(down 0.19%) and Karma Energy(down 0.16%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 121.7 points up at 17080.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 396.1 points at 56859.25 at around 11:00AM.

Eicher Motors(up 3.18%), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.79%), Tata Motors(up 2.65%), Shree Cement(up 2.29%), Tata Consultancy(up 2.26%), Reliance Industries(up 2.17%), UltraTech Cement(up 2.02%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.97%), Grasim Industries(up 1.96%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 1.94%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance(down 2.03%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.93%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.12%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.85%), ICICI Bank(down 0.84%), Tata Steel(down 0.78%), Axis Bank(down 0.6%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.48%), State Bank of India(down 0.42%) and SBI Life(down 0.41%) were trading in the red.
