Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.36% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:29AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Laurus(up 3.67 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 1.71 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 1.18 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.03 per cent) and Lupin(up 0.74 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 1.04 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 0.66 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.39 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.29 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 0.26 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.36 per cent at 13766.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 5.7 points at 17179.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 53.59 points at 57113.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, MRPL and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Vaishali Pharma, Pearl Polymers, MRPL, Bhagyanagar Properti and Mohini Health & Hygi hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while INEOS Styrolution, SP Refractories Ltd. and Akash Infra-Proj hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
