Communal tension has been seen between the two communities in many cities since last few days. Recently, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has attacked the BJP over the violence that took place in Delhi's Jahangirpuri area on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav on Saturday.
He said that BJP is doing politics of riots for its own benefit. Never before have there been riots in the country on the day of Hanuman Janmotsav and Ram Navami. He alleged that riots are being organized in Delhi to win the municipal elections. There is no issue to win elections, so riots are being resorted to.
Violence was witnessed during the Hanuman Janmotsav procession in Jahangirpuri area of the capital Delhi on Saturday. During this many people including policemen were injured. Home Minister Amit Shah himself is monitoring this matter. In this case, Delhi Police has said that irrespective of caste, creed and religion, action will be taken against those involved in it.
Without naming the BJP's rule at the Centre, Raut said, "The way there is a tense situation or such situation has arisen in the big cities of the country, it is very unfortunate. Riots are taking place in the national capital. Delhi is a union territory."
Attacking the BJP, he said, "Now, the MCD (Delhi Municipal Corporation) elections are going to be held in the city. Earlier, the elections were pushed beyond the scheduled date and now there are riots. Whatever is happening, is happening to win the elections, because they have no other issue."
