Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 3.87 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 3.39 crore), Tata Power(number of shares traded: 3.33 crore), NTPC(number of shares traded: 1.97 crore), Alok Industries(number of shares traded: 1.37 crore), ONGC(number of shares traded: 1.32 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 1.22 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 1.19 crore), Infosys(number of shares traded: 1.04 crore) and Bank of Baroda(number of shares traded: 1.01 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 09:59AM in Monday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 270.2 points down at 17205.45, while BSE Sensex was down 1048.02 points at 57290.91 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, NTPC Ltd.(up 3.86 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 2.35 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.84 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.77 per cent) and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.67 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Infosys Ltd.(down 6.81 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 4.62 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd.(down 3.30 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 3.01 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(down 2.91 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
