NEW DELHI: Shares of Sunflag Iron, Pearl Polymers, Magadh Sugar Energy, Premier Poly and Bang Overseas, hit their fresh 52-week highs during Monday's trade on NSE.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 302.0 points down at 17173.65 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.

However, stocks such as OrissaBengalCarrier, Debock Sales & Mktg, Ritco Logistics and McDowell Hold, touched their fresh 52-week lows.

Overall, 24 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 26 closed in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, NTPC, SBI Life, HDFC Life, Coal India Ltd and Tata Steel were among top gainers during the day, while Infosys, HDFC, HDFC Bank, Tech Mahindra and Apollo Hospital ended in the red.

The BSE Sensex closed 1172.19 points down at 57166.74.

Traders piled up positions in Rubber, Defence, Paper, Fertilisers and Power sectors, while selling was witnessed in Industrial Consumables, Agro Processing, IT Software, Irrigation & Allied Services and Tyres sectors during the day.
