Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.62% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:14AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.51 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.47 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TIINDIA(down 2.76 per cent), Escorts(down 1.81 per cent), Bosch(down 1.63 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 1.5 per cent) and MRF(down 1.36 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.62 per cent at 10631.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 330.8 points at 17144.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 1242.1 points at 57096.83.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Power, Bank of Baroda, Alok Industries, ONGC and Infosys were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Autoline Ind, UFO Moviez, Kamat Hotels, SEL Manufact and AXISCADES Engineeri hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while McDowell Hold hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
