Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:24AM

Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 5.07%), Varun Beverages(up 3.15%), Dodla Dairy(up 2.00%), Emami(up 1.21%), Vadilal Industries(up 0.34%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 0.32%), Marico(up 0.25%) and Dangee Dums(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 3.39%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 3.35%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 3.30%), Future Consumer(down 3.16%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 2.37%), Bajaj Consumer(down 2.06%), ADF Foods(down 1.92%), Zydus Wellness(down 1.86%), Prataap Snacks(down 1.50%) and Euro India Fresh Foods(down 1.28%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 326.85 points down at 17148.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 1229.01 points at 57109.92 at around 10:24AM.

NTPC(up 5.2%), Tata Steel(up 2.07%), SBI Life(up 1.71%), Coal India(up 1.61%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.38%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.02%), Cipla(up 0.73%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.65%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.6%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.42%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Infosys(down 6.76%), Tech Mahindra(down 4.95%), HDFC(down 3.77%), HDFC Bank(down 3.48%), Wipro(down 2.95%), Tata Consultancy(down 2.86%), Larsen & Toubro(down 2.49%), HCL Technologies(down 2.45%), UPL Ltd(down 2.33%) and Bajaj Finserv(down 2.29%) were trading in the red.
