Covid cases might be rising, but no need to worry; we are vigilant: Manish Sisodia
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Saturday said coronavirus cases may have been rising in the national capital, but there is no need to worry as hospitalisation is low. He reiterated that instructions have been issued to schools to follow the government's Standard Operating Procedure if they detect any case.
"There is no need to worry. There might have been a rise in coronavirus cases but we are vigilant and the hospital admissions are low. There are only six coronavirus patients admitted at LNJP hospital," Sisodia said
Ammonia in Yamuna up again, water supply to parts of Delhi disrupted
Water supply was disrupted in parts of Delhi once again when ammonia levels in the Yamuna river remained high on Saturday, according to the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
The concentration of ammonia in the river was 7.4 ppm (parts per million), seven times the level of around 1 ppm that the Delhi Jal Board’s water treatment plants (WTPs) can process. Consequently, the water supply from the Chandrawal and Wazirabad WTPs was disrupted.
Banned pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice chief booked for sedition
Gurgaon police on Friday booked the chief of banned pro-Khalistan group ‘Sikhs for Justice’ (SFJ) Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on charges of sedition after he allegedly released a video asking people to raise the Khalistan flag at the offices of the deputy commissioner and superintendent of police in Haryana.
The police have also invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against Pannun. The cops said that in the purported video, Pannun had stated that SFJ would launch the ‘Haryana Banega Khalistan’ campaign on April 29 to advocate for secession of the state from India through a referendum.
Delhi continued to witness a spike in Covid-19 cases reporting 517 new cases on Sunday as against 461 cases detected on Saturday. However, its positivity rate dipped slightly from to 4.21 per cent from 5.33 per cent the day before. No deaths due to Covid-19 was recorded on Sunday.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) on Sunday sought registration of an FIR against those who allegedly involved children during the violence in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri a day before. In a letter to the Delhi police commissioner, the NCPCR said many children can be seen pelting stones and also seen as part of the mob that started the violence. The Commission noted that use of children is a crime under the Juvenile Justice Act and sought an FIR against persons who are found to be in violation of the Act. --PTI

Delhi Police beefed up security after stone-pelting incidents in Jahangirpuri area on Saturday evening, during a 'Shobha Yatra' procession on the occassion of Hanuman Jayanti.
A ruckus has broken out outside the Jahangirpuri police station in Delhi after BJP leader Jai Bhagwan Goyal called for bulldozing of the homes of what he called Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in the area.

During the meeting, all the members were asked to appeal the public in their areas to maintain peace, harmony and tranquility. Hours after communal clashes broke out in Northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri following a Shobha Yatra organised to mark Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday, the Delhi Police have arrested 14 people on the charges of rioting.
The accused who opened fire is among those arrested. The pistol used in the commission of the crime has been recovered from his possession, according to Delhi Police.
A minor fire broke out inside Uphaar Cinema on Sunday morning. The fire department received a call at 4.46 am and nine fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The fire was doused within two hours.

Delhi BJP leaders on Saturday called the clashes during a Hanuman Jayanti procession in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri a “conspiracy” and demanded a probe into the role of “illlegal immigrants” in the incident.
