Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:10AM

Nakoda Group(up 4.67%), DFM Foods(up 2.80%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 2.39%), Varun Beverages(up 2.06%), Dodla Dairy(up 2.03%), ADF Foods(up 1.64%), Prataap Snacks(up 1.55%), Jyothy Labs(up 1.28%), Bajaj Consumer(up 1.25%) and Zydus Wellness(up 1.17%) were among the top gainers.

Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 6.05%), Dangee Dums(down 0.99%), Umang Dairies(down 0.82%), Emami(down 0.74%), Hind.Foods(down 0.48%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.28%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.25%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.15%), Gillette India(down 0.15%) and Nestle India(down 0.12%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 14.45 points up at 17544.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 21.87 points at 58598.24 at around 11:10AM.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 3.02%), UPL Ltd(up 2.28%), Coal India(up 2.28%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 2.02%), NTPC(up 1.83%), JSW Steel(up 1.75%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.04%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.97%), State Bank of India(up 0.9%) and ICICI Bank(up 0.83%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints(down 1.66%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.31%), Titan Company Ltd(down 1.24%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.14%), HDFC(down 1.1%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.99%), HDFC Bank(down 0.94%), Cipla(down 0.81%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.61%) and UltraTech Cement(down 0.61%) were trading in the red.
