Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Shalimar Prod(number of shares traded: 6.22 crore), GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 2.79 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 1.71 crore), MPS Infotecnics (number of shares traded: 0.77 crore), RattanIndia Power (number of shares traded: 0.70 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 0.48 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 0.39 crore), Ballarpur Inds.(number of shares traded: 0.35 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 0.35 crore) and SITI Networks (number of shares traded: 0.32 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:05AM in Wednesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 17.65 points up at 17547.95, while BSE Sensex was up 17.64 points at 58594.01 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 3.02 per cent), UPL Ltd.(up 2.31 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(up 2.07 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.93 per cent) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.84 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.75 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent), Titan Company Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd.(down 1.14 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.06 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
