Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:15AM

Lexus Granito(up 4.95%), MOIL(up 4.86%), Ashapura Minechem(up 2.46%), Coal India(up 2.18%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 1.63%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.20%), Oriental Trimex(up 0.74%), 20 Microns(up 0.61%), KIOCL(up 0.54%) and Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.53%) were among the top gainers.

Aro Granite Industries(down 1.71%), Pokarna(down 0.86%) and NMDC Ltd(down 0.29%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 13.65 points up at 17543.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 5.88 points at 58582.25 at around 11:15AM.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 3.02%), UPL Ltd(up 2.39%), Coal India(up 2.18%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 2.09%), JSW Steel(up 1.68%), NTPC(up 1.64%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.07%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.04%), Shree Cement(up 0.9%) and ICICI Bank(up 0.84%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints(down 1.74%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.33%), Titan Company Ltd(down 1.29%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.27%), HDFC(down 1.08%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.03%), Cipla(down 0.98%), HDFC Bank(down 0.91%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.63%) and Divis Laboratories(down 0.48%) were trading in the red.
