Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.07% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:19AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.17 per cent), Laurus(up 0.67 per cent), Biocon(up 0.63 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.62 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.26 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 1.13 per cent), Granules India(down 0.58 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 0.52 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(down 0.44 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.07 per cent at 13735.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 36.15 points at 17566.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 80.4 points at 58656.77.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Magma Fincorp, Redington and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Hariom Pipe Industries Ltd., Jash Engineering, Anand Rathi Wealth Ltd., Krishana Phoschem and Hardwyn India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Innovative Tyres & T hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
