Edible oil brand Sunpure has bagged a tender from the Karnataka government under its mid-day meal programme that covers millions of school children.

Over 1110 metric tonnes of Sunpure oil was used to create wholesome and freshly cooked meals for 46 lakhs students in 26 districts. Sunpure’s products are known for their purity, and the brand was therefore able to bag the 16-crore contract, the company said in a press release.

Sunpure’s general manager Gokaran Singh Pawar said that they are happy to get the opportunity to partner with Karnataka in the initiative. “

Given the last two years of Covid and now the Russia-Ukraine war, we're going through many unforeseen challenges globally. Amidst all this, it gives us immense pleasure to be able to give back to society and serve underprivileged children through such a crucial and heartfelt initiative. This is an ongoing process, and we are looking forward to partnering with and supporting many more such humanitarian programmes,” he said.
