Nakoda Group(up 9.27%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 3.90%), Prataap Snacks(up 3.45%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 3.04%), Varun Beverages(up 2.76%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 1.62%), Heritage Foods(up 1.43%), DFM Foods(up 1.26%), Future Consumer(up 1.06%) and Bajaj Consumer(up 1.03%) stood among the top gainers.
Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 9.17%), Umang Dairies(down 3.70%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 2.45%), Emami(down 2.37%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 2.00%), Gillette India(down 0.97%), Hind.Foods(down 0.75%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.73%), Dodla Dairy(down 0.48%) and Dangee Dums(down 0.29%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 54.65 points down at 17475.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 237.44 points at 58338.93.
Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 3.17%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 2.55%), ITC(up 1.79%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.68%), UPL Ltd(up 1.61%), JSW Steel(up 1.38%), Shree Cement(up 0.96%), State Bank of India(up 0.95%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.93%) and NTPC(up 0.88%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, HDFC(down 1.95%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.95%), HDFC Bank(down 1.91%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.67%), Tata Motors(down 1.65%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.54%), Asian Paints(down 1.53%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.4%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.23%) and Eicher Motors(down 1.2%) closed in the red.
