Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:25AM

AVADHSUGAR(up 3.66%) and EID Parry(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers.

BAJAJHIND(down 3.62%), Rana Sugars(down 3.38%), Sakthi Sugars(down 3.19%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 3.17%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 2.94%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 2.79%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 2.25%), Mawana Sugars(down 2.23%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 2.12%) and DCM Shriram Industries(down 1.96%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 168.55 points down at 17506.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 489.55 points at 58475.02 at around 11:25AM.

Tata Consultancy(up 0.79%), HCL Technologies(up 0.6%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.54%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.33%), Shree Cement(up 0.18%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.14%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 4.95%), Coal India(down 3.97%), Tata Steel(down 3.61%), Grasim Industries(down 3.01%), Tata Motors(down 2.92%), JSW Steel(down 2.49%), Larsen & Toubro(down 2.37%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.85%), Infosys(down 1.72%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.7%) were trading in the red.
