IPL 2022: LSG lose to Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow skipper KL Rahul gets some comfort from Shetty squad

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul got a happy surprise on Sunday when his actress-girlfriend Athiya Shetty marked her attendance at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for the Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals (RR).

What's even more exciting is that the actress was accompanied by daddy cool, Suniel Shetty, and mother Maya.

Actress-model Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, who was earlier rumoured to be dating the cricketer during the pandemic, also joined the Shettys for the Sunday match. Known for her performance in Ray (2021) and Guilty (2020), she is a close friend of the couple. and best friend of Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt.

While Shetty and Ranjan Kapoor were sporting Lucknow Super Giants jerseys, the mom-daughter duo kept it simple in pastel blue shirts - matching the colour of the jersey.

The actress who made her Bollywood debut with 'Hero' took to Instagram to share two Stories from Sunday evening.

Several pictures of the Shettys and Ranjan Kapoor cheering for the cricketer at the stadium went viral on social media.

Some pictures even showed Mrs Shetty loudly applauding her daughter's boyfriend.

Despite an intense match, RR defeated LSG by three runs.

Last November, the 29-year-old cricketer made his relationship with the 'Motichoor Chaknachoor' star official on the actress' 29th birthday. Since then, the duo have been named brand ambassadors by brands like PUMA and NUMI Paris.

The couple have often been spotted together, but always remained tight-lipped about their relationship. However, they never shied away from posting adorable birthday posts for each other on Instagram.
