Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Monday at 10:39AM

Lexus Granito(up 4.93%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 3.98%), 20 Microns(up 1.81%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.74%), MOIL(up 1.33%), Ashapura Minechem(up 1.18%), Aro Granite Industries(up 0.41%), Coal India(up 0.41%), Oriental Trimex(up 0.38%) and Pokarna(up 0.32%) were among the top gainers.

Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 2.66%) and KIOCL(down 0.73%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 84.45 points down at 17699.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 358.76 points at 59088.42 at around 10:39AM.

JSW Steel(up 1.68%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 1.13%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.08%), Grasim Industries(up 1.04%), ICICI Bank(up 0.91%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.9%), Tata Motors(up 0.86%), Tata Steel(up 0.73%), NTPC(up 0.72%) and IndusInd Bank(up 0.7%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Infosys(down 2.3%), SBI Life(down 1.84%), HCL Technologies(down 1.84%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.71%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.52%), Wipro(down 1.33%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.12%), Britannia Industries(down 1.07%), Reliance Industries(down 1.06%) and Asian Paints(down 0.91%) were trading in the red.
