Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.2% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:20AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

IDFCBANK(up 1.79 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 1.6 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 1.23 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.96 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.91 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bandhan Bank(down 1.17 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 0.82 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.54 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.26 per cent) and Federal Bank(down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.2 per cent at 37828.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 97.85 points at 17686.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 401.35 points at 59045.83.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power, Adani Power and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Cool Caps Industries Ltd., Agro Phos India, Blue Chip India, BAG Films and Mirza Intnl hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while P E Analytics Ltd., McDowell Hold, Veranda Learning Solutions Ltd., JMT Auto and Future Supply Chain hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
