
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Monday.
Shares of Tata Consultancy(up 0.29 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(up 0.03 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, L&T Technology(down 3.89 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 2.73 per cent), Infosys(down 2.65 per cent), Wipro(down 2.15 per cent) and Mindtree(down 1.65 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 1.41 per cent down at 34895.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 109.4 points at 17674.95, while the BSE Sensex stood down 482.61 points at 58964.57.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Shree Ren Sug and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Cool Caps Industries Ltd., Nagreeka Export, Dynacons Sys, Adani Green and Ester Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while McDowell Hold, Veranda Learning Solutions Ltd., P E Analytics Ltd., Future Supply Chain and Asian Hotels(W)hit their fresh 52-week lows.
