Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.04% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 11:00AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Biocon(up 1.35 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.23 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 0.85 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.75 per cent) and Gland Pharma(up 0.73 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Strides Pharma Science(down 1.29 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 1.25 per cent), Granules India(down 0.95 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.8 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.23 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.04 per cent at 13833.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 101.6 points at 17682.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 416.2 points at 59030.98.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Adani Power, Tata Power and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Cool Caps Industries Ltd., Agro Phos India, Blue Chip India, Ester Ind and BAG Films hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while McDowell Hold, P E Analytics Ltd., Veranda Learning Solutions Ltd., Sathavahana Isp and JMT Auto hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
