Stock market update: Power stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Monday at 10:04AM

ADANIGREEN(up 6.73%), Adani Transmissions(up 5.00%), Reliance Power(up 3.53%), Energy Development Company(up 3.01%), Karma Energy(up 3.00%), Orient Green Power Company(up 2.85%), Tata Power Company(up 2.48%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 2.30%), Adani Power(up 2.29%) and Torrent Power(up 2.06%) were among the top gainers.

Indowind Energy(down 3.13%), Hitachi Energy India(down 1.57%) and Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 0.43%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 98.05 points down at 17686.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 386.69 points at 59060.49 at around 10:04AM.

Grasim Industries(up 1.71%), JSW Steel(up 1.33%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.97%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.79%), NTPC(up 0.76%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.62%), Tata Motors(up 0.58%), Cipla(up 0.53%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.49%) and UPL Ltd(up 0.48%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, SBI Life(down 2.13%), HCL Technologies(down 1.61%), Infosys(down 1.59%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.38%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.19%), Wipro(down 1.11%), Reliance Industries(down 1.1%), Nestle India(down 1.08%), HDFC Bank(down 1.06%) and Britannia Industries(down 0.95%) were trading in the red.
