I'm fine (after the blow to the helmet). Just keeping it really simple. It was a good wicket to bat on. The pp was important for us, and we made the most. It's a good total. I love watching him bat from the other end (Warner). He was striking it really well. I think their plan was to bowl the slower ones where there was the longer boundary, and I think our execution was really well - striking the ball along the ground at the long boundary, and taking it on at the other end.
Last over now and Thakur has hit the first ball for a four, straight over Cummins' head. 5 runs off the next 3 balls. Penultimate ball ends up with one run. Last ball now and that's it for a 6!!! DC 215/5 after 20 overs.
Shardul Thakur is now taking charge as he hits Umesh Yadav for two sixes. One in the leg side and one in the off side. Both of the shots have gone miles!! On dew-blanched tracks, Varun Chakravarthy has been largely uninspiring this IPL. His deliveries were bereft of the usual fizz that he extracts off the surface, and he was more like the gentlest of dibbly-dobbly trundler. He has looked gloomy and ghastly under lights. Perhaps, all he needed in his life was a bit of sunshine. He found some at the afternoon match in Brabourne, and rediscovered the fizz. The ball nipped the dangerous looking Prithvi Shaw with a peach. The inward drift was sumptuous. The drift fooled Shaw into thinking that the ball could turn away, but as it unfolded, it broke into him after pitching. Shaw had left his garden gates so wide and open that Chakravarthy could drive his sedan through it and crash into the boulevard.
