The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, or Prime Ministers' Museum - all set to come up at Teen Murti Bhavan - will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14.

It will provide a glimpse into the contributions of various prime ministers of the country.

A redeveloped block in the museum will also exhibit the gifts received by India's first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, that have not yet been part of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library till now.

The government has said that the museum aims to sensitise the younger generation about the "leadership, vision and achievements of all the former Prime Ministers."

It will tell the story of how various prime ministers navigated their journeys at different times.

The guiding principle has been to recognize the contribution of all the Prime Ministers in a non-partisan manner, official sources said.

The design of the museum building is inspired by "the story of rising India, shaped and moulded by its leaders," they added.

It will also acknowledge the contributions of all prime ministers irrespective of ideology or tenure in office, government sources said.
