Shares of Bandhan Bank(up 2.53 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 1.98 per cent), Federal Bank(up 1.78 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 1.34 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.02 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IDFCBANK(down 1.3 per cent) and HDFC Bank(down 0.14 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.52 per cent up at 37752.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 144.8 points at 17784.35, while the BSE Sensex stood up 412.23 points at 59447.18.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 ended in the green, while 9 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Shree Ren Sug, JP Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Choice Intnl, Wendt India, Bharat Dynamics, Ganesh Benzo and Arman Financial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., Sonam Clock and OrissaBengalCarrier hit their fresh 52-week lows.
