Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:19AM

ADF Foods(up 4.55%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 2.48%), Zydus Wellness(up 0.95%), Heritage Foods(up 0.93%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.83%), Marico(up 0.81%), Hind.Foods(up 0.81%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 0.80%), Britannia Industries(up 0.69%) and DFM Foods(up 0.64%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 2.23%), Gillette India(down 0.77%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.75%), Dodla Dairy(down 0.71%), Nestle India(down 0.27%), Parag Milk(down 0.23%), Vadilal Industries(down 0.22%), Bajaj Consumer(down 0.20%), Dangee Dums(down 0.19%) and Jyothy Labs(down 0.03%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 27.4 points down at 17612.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 122.73 points at 58912.22 at around 10:19AM.

Coal India(up 1.6%), SBI Life(up 1.05%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.02%), UPL Ltd(up 0.95%), Britannia Industries(up 0.74%), JSW Steel(up 0.66%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.64%), Tata Steel(up 0.63%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.58%) and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.56%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Cipla(down 2.61%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.12%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.98%), NTPC(down 0.98%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.96%), HDFC(down 0.9%), HDFC Bank(down 0.85%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.76%), HCL Technologies(down 0.71%) and Divis Laboratories(down 0.55%) were trading in the red.
