Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Friday at 11:05AM

Lexus Granito(up 4.53%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 2.62%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 2.34%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 2.03%), Coal India(up 1.97%), Oriental Trimex(up 1.92%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.50%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.82%), KIOCL(up 0.76%) and MOIL(up 0.40%) were among the top gainers.

Ashapura Minechem(down 3.52%) and Pokarna(down 1.50%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 26.85 points up at 17666.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 28.11 points at 59063.06 at around 11:05AM.

Grasim Industries(up 4.2%), SBI Life(up 2.62%), Coal India(up 1.97%), JSW Steel(up 1.71%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.45%), UPL Ltd(up 1.38%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.3%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.21%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.14%) and Tata Motors(up 0.98%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Cipla(down 2.33%), NTPC(down 1.34%), HDFC(down 1.18%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.07%), HDFC Bank(down 0.98%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.74%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.71%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.66%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.54%) and HCL Technologies(down 0.36%) were trading in the red.
