Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 11:05AM

Godrej Consumer Products(up 4.83%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 2.70%), Dabur India(up 2.39%), Future Consumer(up 1.98%), Zydus Wellness(up 1.83%), Jyothy Labs(up 1.63%), Bajaj Consumer(up 1.24%), Prataap Snacks(up 1.07%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.05%) and Varun Beverages(up 0.82%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 4.30%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 1.18%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.91%), Nestle India(down 0.70%), Vadilal Industries(down 0.53%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.39%), Heritage Foods(down 0.10%) and Hind.Foods(down 0.09%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 114.6 points down at 17693.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 435.13 points at 59175.28 at around 11:05AM.

NTPC(up 2.29%), Cipla(up 1.88%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.49%), Eicher Motors(up 1.24%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.12%), Axis Bank(up 1.01%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.96%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.81%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.76%) and Coal India(up 0.72%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Titan Company Ltd(down 2.68%), HDFC(down 2.39%), HDFC Bank(down 1.84%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.65%), Wipro(down 1.59%), Reliance Industries(down 1.56%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.53%), Grasim Industries(down 1.31%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.17%) and Tata Consultancy(down 1.13%) were trading in the red.
