NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 435.24 points down at 60176.50 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Alfred Herbert(down 10.11 per cent), Systematix Corp(down 8.82 per cent), Jay Ushin(down 7.85 per cent), Olympia Ind(down 7.71 per cent) and GTL Ltd(down 7.41 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 27 stocks closed in the green, while 23 stocks ended in the red.

The index closed 96.0 points down at 17957.4.

On the BSE, Indo-Global Enterpri, Manraj Housing, Evoq Remedies Ltd., Shashijit Infraproje and GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Shree Krishna Infras, Swan Energy, Chennai Petro, Fluidomat Ltd and Hitech Corporation touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
