Russia Ukraine War Updates: Russia and Ukraine will resume their peace talks online on April 1, a senior Ukrainian official said after the latest round of negotiations had ended in Turkey.
Ukrainian negotiator David Arakhamia said in an online post that Ukraine had proposed the countries' two leaders should meet, but Russia responded by saying more work needed to be done on a draft treaty.

China reports 1,803 new local COVID-19 cases
China reported 1,803 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the National Health Commission said. Of the new local infections, 1,340 were reported in Jilin, 355 in Shanghai, 19 in Heilongjiang, 15 in Henan, and 11 each in Fujian and Guangdong, Xinhua News Agency reported citing the commission.

Pakistan: Ongoing political unrest
Pakistan's former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar held talks with estranged Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen over the current political situation in the country. Both the leaders also spoke about the no-confidence motion moved against Usman Buzdar in the Punjab Assembly. Buzdar has submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan but the resignation is yet to be accepted, Geo News reported citing sources within the PML-N and Jahangir Tareen group.
Dar and Tareen spoke over the phone for about half an hour and discussed the current political situation in Pakistan. They also discussed possible ways of cooperation at the Punjab Assembly level and the centre, said the sources.

The Russian defence ministry announced a local ceasefire on Thursday to allow civilians to be evacuated from Ukraine's besieged port city of Mariupol.
