Market LIVE: Sensex, Nifty choppy; FMCG gains, Pharma, PSBs weaken

Stock market live updates: The key benchmark indices were volatile in noon deals, tracking weak global sentiment and on the bcak of monthly F&O expiry. The BSE Sensex was down 100 points at 58,580, while the NSE Nifty was below 17,500. 

Reliance, Infosys, Wipro and Airtel were the top drags on the Sensex, down 1 per cent each. L&T, Maruti, PowerGrid, Kotak Bank were the other notable losers. 

In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices also trimmed gains but continued to outperform, trading up to 0.4 per cent higher.   

Sectorally, Nifty Pharma, PSBS and IT were subdued. While, FMCG, Metals, Auto and Oil & Gas were the lead gainers. 

The overall market breadth was slighlty positive with 1,795 advancing stocks on the BSE vs 1,383 declines.
