Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 141.45 points to 17466.75 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as MITCON Const & Engg., GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., Akash Infra-Proj, Nagreeka Capital and Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 39 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 11 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Tata Consumer, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, Grasim Inds. and Hero MotoCorp were among top gainers, while ONGC, Hindalco, JSW Steel, Tata Steel and Tech Mahindra traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 531.4 points up at 58475.05 at 10:34AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Tea / Coffee, Telecommunications, IT - Hardware, Sugar and Media & Entertainment sectors, while selling was visible in Industrial Consumables, IT Enabled Services, Textiles, Auto Ancillaries and Metals - Ferrous sectors.
