Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:49AM

Bannari Amman Sugars(up 4.77%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 3.71%), Rana Sugars(up 3.69%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 3.41%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 3.35%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 3.33%), Mawana Sugars(up 3.12%), AVADHSUGAR(up 2.82%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 2.79%) and Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 2.72%) were among the top gainers.

Ugar Sugar Works(down 1.06%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 156.85 points up at 17482.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 598.82 points at 58542.47 at around 10:49AM.

TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 4.12%), Axis Bank(up 3.48%), Bajaj Finserv(up 3.4%), Grasim Industries(up 3.1%), Bajaj Finance(up 2.86%), Hero MotoCorp(up 2.47%), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.12%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.1%), Shree Cement(up 2.04%) and HDFC(up 2.0%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 4.42%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.98%), JSW Steel(down 2.84%), Tata Steel(down 2.23%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.65%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.76%), ITC(down 0.69%), Coal India(down 0.51%), UPL Ltd(down 0.49%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.42%) were trading in the red.
