Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.07% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:14AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Divis Laboratories(up 2.72 per cent), Cipla(up 1.97 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.86 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.6 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.37 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Aurobindo Pharma(down 1.07 per cent), Granules India(down 0.05 per cent) and Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 1.07 per cent at 13707.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 66.85 points at 17288.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 220.65 points at 57814.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Adani Power, Motherson Sumi Wiring India Ltd., YES Bank, Vodafone Idea and Adani Wilmar Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indo Borax Chem, SPML Infra, Swelect Energy, Shigan Quantum Technologies Ltd. and Shree Ram Proteins hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akash Infra-Proj, Rollatainers Ltd, CMI Ltd, Precision Metaliks Ltd. and Future Enterprises hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
