Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 10:24AM

Ashapura Minechem(up 2.15%), Pokarna(up 1.42%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.86%), KIOCL(up 0.77%) and MOIL(up 0.54%) were among the top gainers.

Coal India(down 1.88%), Aro Granite Industries(down 1.57%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 1.38%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.10%), Oriental Trimex(down 0.45%), NMDC Ltd(down 0.37%) and 20 Microns(down 0.20%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 72.75 points up at 17294.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 232.07 points at 57825.56 at around 10:24AM.

UltraTech Cement(up 2.59%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.5%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.38%), HDFC(up 2.37%), Bharti Airtel(up 2.23%), Shree Cement(up 1.8%), Cipla(up 1.74%), SBI Life(up 1.41%), Asian Paints(up 1.07%) and Bajaj Auto(up 1.06%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.41%), Coal India(down 1.86%), ITC(down 0.8%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.19%), NTPC(down 0.19%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.17%), Axis Bank(down 0.14%), Infosys(down 0.09%) and Tata Steel(down 0.06%) were trading in the red.
