Roads Ministry asks DRDO-arm to investigate Ola and Okinawa e-scooter fire incidents

Transport Secretary, Armane Girdhar had told reporters on Tuesday that an independent agency will be probing the explosion/fire instance in the Ola S1Pro e-scooter on March 26, 2022 in Dhanori Area of Pune, Maharashtra. The fire/explosion in Okinawa's Praise Pro e-scooter that took place at Vellore, Tamil Nadu will also be under investigation.

The Road Transport Ministry has asked the Centre for Fire, Explosive and Environment Safety (CFEES) to investigate the fire instance in an Ola S1Pro and an Okinawa Praise Pro e-scooters.

CFEES is an Indian defence laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

Transport Secretary, Armane Girdhar had told reporters on Tuesday that an independent agency will be probing the explosion/fire instance in the Ola S1Pro e-scooter on March 26, 2022 in Dhanori Area of Pune, Maharashtra. The fire/explosion in Okinawa's Praise Pro e-scooter that took place at Vellore, Tamil Nadu will also be under investigation.

The videos of the e-scooters catching fire were shared extensively on social media and instant messaging platforms. In a statement issued after the accident, Ola said that it too is investigating the incident.
