Adani Power(up 6.32%), Hitachi Energy India(up 6.01%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.96%), K.P.I. Global Infras(up 4.88%), PIGL(up 4.79%), NLC India(up 2.26%), JSW Energy(up 2.02%), RTNPOWER(up 1.72%), Karma Energy(up 1.39%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.26%) stood among the top gainers.
Reliance Power(down 5.00%), Energy Development Company(down 4.91%), Indowind Energy(down 4.87%), Orient Green Power Company(down 4.81%), GE Power India Limited(down 4.12%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 3.52%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 3.08%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 2.92%), Suzlon Energy(down 2.67%) and Alstom T&D India(down 2.31%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 69.0 points up at 17222.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 231.29 points at 57593.49.
Bharti Airtel(up 3.34%), Coal India(up 2.77%), Axis Bank(up 2.05%), Eicher Motors(up 1.85%), ICICI Bank(up 1.59%), ITC(up 1.46%), State Bank of India(up 1.39%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.26%), Grasim Industries(up 1.25%) and JSW Steel(up 1.21%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 2.23%), Nestle India(down 1.75%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.74%), HDFC(down 1.51%), SBI Life(down 1.43%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.34%), HCL Technologies(down 1.31%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.84%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.84%) and Asian Paints(down 0.64%) closed in the red.
