Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:39AM

Ashapura Minechem(up 4.97%) and Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 1.56%) were among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex(down 3.11%), 20 Microns(down 2.67%), Aro Granite Industries(down 2.11%), Lexus Granito(down 2.04%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 1.33%), KIOCL(down 1.06%), MOIL(down 0.67%), Pokarna(down 0.32%), NMDC Ltd(down 0.16%) and Coal India(down 0.03%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 128.4 points down at 17024.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 462.67 points at 56899.53 at around 10:39AM.

Bajaj Auto(up 1.77%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.34%), Cipla(up 0.62%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.61%), Eicher Motors(up 0.55%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.51%), ITC(up 0.43%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.19%), Reliance Industries(up 0.16%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HDFC(down 2.49%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.02%), UPL Ltd(down 1.75%), HDFC Bank(down 1.75%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.65%), HCL Technologies(down 1.64%), Nestle India(down 1.52%), State Bank of India(down 1.44%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.43%) and Asian Paints(down 1.34%) were trading in the red.
