Shares of Godrej Properties(up 3.4 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 2.97 per cent), DLF(up 2.38 per cent) and Phoenix Mills(up 1.0 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Oberoi Realty(down 1.05 per cent), Macrotech Developers(down 0.96 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(down 0.51 per cent) and Indiabulls Real Estate(down 0.29 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 1.22 per cent up at 449.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 69.75 points at 17153.0, while the BSE Sensex stood down 233.48 points at 57362.2.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 ended in the green, while 38 closed in the red.
Shares of Adani Power, L&T Fin Holding, Vodafone Idea, IDFC First Bank and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Goa Carbons, Som Distill, Tata Elxsi, Lemon Tree Hotels and Guj Mineral Dev. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Felix Industries, Akash Infra-Proj, Future Enterprises, GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd. and Ganga Forging hit their fresh 52-week lows.
