Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.25% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Bajaj Auto(up 1.32 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 0.74 per cent), Tata Motors(up 0.54 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 0.45 per cent) and Bosch(up 0.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Maruti Suzuki(down 1.8 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.78 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 0.7 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(down 0.46 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.44 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.25 per cent at 10385.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 36.85 points at 17185.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 117.86 points at 57477.82.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Adani Power, IDFC First Bank, Vodafone Idea, L&T Fin Holding and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of VIP Ind., Inox Leisure, Krishana Phoschem, SEL Manufact and SecUR Credentials hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Felix Industries, Akash Infra-Proj, GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., Ganga Forging and Future Enterprises hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
