Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Friday at 11:20AM

Ugar Sugar Works(up 2.06%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 0.40%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.30%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.10%) and Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.08%) were among the top gainers.

Simbhaoli Sugars(down 2.50%), Mawana Sugars(down 2.46%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 2.45%), Rana Sugars(down 2.27%), AVADHSUGAR(down 2.17%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 1.78%), Sakthi Sugars(down 1.64%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 1.54%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 1.37%) and KCP Sugar & Industries(down 1.30%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 38.9 points down at 17183.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 142.27 points at 57453.41 at around 11:20AM.

Bajaj Auto(up 1.98%), UPL Ltd(up 1.51%), Reliance Industries(up 0.86%), State Bank of India(up 0.69%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.64%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.54%), Tata Motors(up 0.5%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.47%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.37%) and JSW Steel(up 0.32%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Titan Company Ltd(down 3.05%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.71%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.67%), Cipla(down 1.55%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.38%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 1.33%), ITC(down 1.22%), Nestle India(down 1.1%), Eicher Motors(down 1.07%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.98%) were trading in the red.
