NEW DELHI: Shares of Goa Carbons, Som Distill, Tata Elxsi, Lemon Tree Hotels and Guj Mineral Dev., hit their fresh 52-week highs during Friday's trade on NSE.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 69.75 points down at 17153.0 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.

However, stocks such as Felix Industries, Akash Infra-Proj, Future Enterprises, GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd. and Ganga Forging, touched their fresh 52-week lows.

Overall, 12 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 38 closed in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, Bajaj Auto, Adani Ports SEZ, JSW Steel, Dr. Reddys and SBI were among top gainers during the day, while Titan Company, Tech Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Cipla and Indian Oil Corp. ended in the red.

The BSE Sensex closed 233.48 points down at 57362.20.

Traders piled up positions in Logistics, Airlines, Telecommunications, Hospitals & Allied Services and Rubber sectors, while selling was witnessed in Industrial Consumables, IT Enabled Services, Textiles, Auto Ancillaries and Irrigation & Allied Services sectors during the day.
