IPL 2022 format

Ditching the round robin format seen till now, where every team will face each other twice, IPL season 15 brings in a new twist. This year, the ten teams have been divided into two groups on the basis of IPL final wins and appearances. Each team will play all the teams in their respective group twice. At the same time, teams will play all the teams in the other group one time. There is only one exception, and that is the similar parallel seeded team from the opposite group will be faced twice. Group A: Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants

Group B: Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans.

Parallel seeded teams: MI and CSK, KKR and SRH, RR and RCB, DC and PBKS, LSG and GT

IPL 2022 venue

This year’s IPL will be played in 4 stadiums across Mumbai and Pune. These are Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium and DY Patil Sports Stadium. The reason IPL will not be played in other locations is to minimize traveling and keeping a secure bio-bubble in light of any future Covid-19 wave.

When to watch IPL 2022
